To celebrate the 3D re-release of one of the most acclaimed movies in recent film history, today’s #FilmFriday Suggestion is James Cameron’s “Titanic” (1997)! This spectacular epic re-creates the ill-fated maiden voyage of the White Star Line’s $7.5 million R.M.S Titanic and the tragic sea disaster of April 15, 1912. This film spans over the course of three hours, but never lets go of your focused attention. From it’s attention to detail art direction, to the perfect timing of the ship’s sinking to the films actual running time, Titanic has been the most expensive film at the time of it’s release and the most successful beaten only by Cameron’s space epic “Avatar”. Though being 15 years old, this film remains fresh and immovable from the minds of those that witnessed it’s grandeur on opening weekend. Relieve this acclaimed romantic epic this weekend and experience it in James Cameron’s version of 3D!

Today’s #FilmFriday Suggestion is George Lucas’ “Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope” (1977)! This film begins one of the greatest cinematic epics of all time! Originally conceived as a serialized popcorn movie in the manner of the old actionmovies that Lucas grew up with, Star Wars surpassed even George’s keen and bombastic imagination to become a central part of movie history. From its masterful story-telling structure modeled after Joseph Campbell’s “A Hero’s Journey”, this film takes the audience on an unforgettable journey to a galaxy far, far away! Relive this milestone of a film this weekend! And remember, may the force be with you!

Last week’s #FilmFriday Suggestion was Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” (2002)! Jackson’s second installment to The Lord of the Rings franchise has achieved insurmountable feats with its art direction, well-crafted war scenes, and its fantastic imaginings of Middle-Earth creatures and characters. The Helm’s Deep battle sequence has been hailed as one of the best in film history, described as being a symphony of bloodlust and hopes dashed and restored. When was the last time you visited Middle-Earth? Make sure to return by revisiting this classic second installment!
